About Nextcloud

Gives a team control of its own file sharing and collaboration data, with a large app ecosystem.

How to contribute

  1. Read the project's guidelines. Open the repository and look for CONTRIBUTING, the code of conduct and the README.
  2. Find something to work on. Browse good first issues or all open issues. Documentation and bug reports are welcome contributions too.
  3. Make the change. Fork the repository, work on a branch, and keep the change small and focused.
  4. Open a pull request. Describe what and why, link the issue, and respond to review. See open pull requests for examples.

Contributions are normally accepted under the project's own licence (AGPL-3.0). Some projects also ask you to sign a contributor agreement.

Licence: AGPL-3.0

Strong copyleft. You can use and modify it, including commercially. If you run a modified version as a network service, you must offer its source code to users under the same licence.

This is a plain-English guide, not legal advice. Read the full licence text and check the repository for current terms and any commercial editions before you rely on it.
