The challenge

Dreemzrock wanted everyday chats to become comics people could edit, share, and print — not a static image, a product. In 2019 that meant reading the tone of a conversation, placing characters, and giving the author a studio, before the current wave of image models existed. DEIENAMI was the core engineering partner for the mobile app and the services behind it.

The problem

A chat is a poor comic script. It has no panels, no expressions, and no clear sense of who is speaking until you parse it. Creators also needed to correct the machine: move a character, change an emotion, rewrite a bubble. And the point of a relationship storybook is that someone might want it on paper, so generation that could not be edited or ordered as print would have stopped at a demo.

How it was solved

We built the Flutter app and the Django services around a path from chat to comic: sentence analysis for tone, avatar and expression placement, and a studio where panels, characters, and frames stay editable. Rendering used the vision tooling available then — detection and image composition, trained and stored on AWS — and a print API so a finished strip could be ordered. Sign-in, media, and the social feed sat on the same platform, so publishing was part of the product rather than an export step.

The result

People could turn a conversation or a written narrative into a comic, adjust it, share it, and order a print. The product reached the finals of the GITEX Future Stars Supernova Challenge in 2020, the only Indian startup to do so that year. It also settled how we think about creative tools: generation is the start, and the product is the part the author can still change.
